Bathroom Accessories to Enhance Your Home

If you don't want to renovate your entire bathroom, why not spruce up the space with accessories? Some elements can make your bathroom more comfortable and luxurious, while others make it more functional. Here are several possibilities.

Mirror Options

One accessory that will make life easier as you jump out of the shower and get ready for the day is a fog-free mirror. These mirrors have a demister or heating pad at the back to warm up the surface. This helps because a mirror becomes misty due to condensation as the hot bathroom air hits the cold mirror. By warming up the mirror, you prevent condensation from developing. To improve visibility further, you could fit a mirror surrounded by globes around the sides for even illumination.

Mirrors can also help expand the bathroom and make it feel more spacious, as the reflection in the room gives the impression that the walls extend further and the space is larger. You could install a vast, expansive mirror covering an entire wall or a smaller mirror that's large enough to shave or apply makeup. If two people are using the bathroom, you might prefer a wide mirror.

You can choose frameless mirrors with a bevelled edge for a seamless look. Otherwise, install a decorative frame that matches the decor. For example, choose a bamboo frame for a zen bathroom or a chrome frame for a modern look. In a traditional bathroom, install an ornate frame that features scrolls and spirals.

Heated Towel Racks

Bathrooms are often humid places, which makes it hard for towels to dry. A heated towel rack, though, will create luxuriously warm towels for when you jump out of the shower. The electrical elements are hidden inside the racks. They can be attached to the wall and wired into the circuitry. Otherwise, you can purchase plugin models. Not only will the towels be fluffy and warm, but they'll be more hygienic also. You can buy a ladder rack with several rails for multiple towels or a single or double model.

Rain Shower Head

Some bathroom accessories enhance the showering experience itself. If you want to mimic the luxurious feel of rain flowing over your head and shoulders, you could install a rain shower head. These units deliver large droplets that feel like rain. But they use smart technology. The air droplets can be filled with air to create good pressure without using much water. Select a shower head shape to suit your bathroom. For example, install a square or rectangular design for a modern space or a round one for a traditional bathroom. Some shower heads offer different ways to adjust the spray pattern to create various effects.
