Changes That Will Make Your Kitchen Look And Feel Brand New

A full kitchen makeover can be a daunting endeavour for most homeowners. Considering all the different aspects of the kitchen, you may be confused as to where to start when it comes to transforming the space into a new kitchen. If you think it is time for an upgrade, below are the main changes that you could focus on that would make your kitchen look and feel brand new.

Switch out your splashbacks

Kitchen splashbacks may be one of the most underrated parts of the kitchen, but they tend to be one of the more functional materials in the space. Nevertheless, since the splashbacks are typically curated from ceramic tile, they do not make much of a statement in the kitchen. To uplift the appearance of this room, you should take out your boring tile splashbacks and replace them with a stylish and modern option. Some of the materials that are making a splash in the splashback industry include glass, granite, stainless steel and even marble. Additionally, all these materials are available in an array of textures and colour choices for added visual interest.

Change out your flooring

Your kitchen floors tend to be one of the first areas that will begin to exhibit signs of wear since they take the brunt of your kitchen traffic. Combine this with the impact of items when they fall and spills from food preparation, your floors can become severely stained, cracked and more. If you have an old kitchen, it is likely that you have ceramic tile or linoleum flooring fitted in your kitchen. These options may be hardy, but they do not contribute much to the aesthetic of the space. Instead, inject some wow factor into your kitchen by leaning toward premium materials such as travertine, luxury vinyl and even hardwood in the form of spotted gum as this species is highly resistant to moisture damage. To save on costs, you should opt for flooring profiles that can be installed directly over your pre-existing floors rather than having to prep the subflooring.

Swap out your cabinetry

Cabinets are also prone to cosmetic damage as they are used on a regular basis. With time, the cabinet knobs begin to lose their lustre, start to come loose and could even be missing altogether! If you are strapped for cash, painting your cabinetry and replacing the knobs would be sufficient to transform their appearance. But if you have a flexible budget, consider changing them out entirely with custom cabinetry made from your choice of materials, particularly if you have stock cabinets fitted in your kitchen.
